Keywords like immersion, complexity and magic underline the multimedia-based film installation which artists Elisabeta Manescu and Barbara Wolfram use to lead the audience of FRONTALE to the medium film, to challenge the audience, dare and bewitch it. The lively element of the medium film shall be made accessible at the interface of film – performance – installation by a participatory process. The complex media-based work highlights the medium film in a playful way and provides a unique cross-over approach into it for the festival and its audience.

Film lives, is lively, brings the world to us, leaves marks and togehter with the audience it enhances in a lively way. Film is FRONTALE, it is complex just as life itself. Film demands an active reception, especially nowadays, an active awareness of its power, timelessness and beauty.

LAYERS of LIFE combines these elements and offers an experience that joins film – performance – installation to a new realm of experience and that entertainingly and educationally introduces film to people of all ages and backgrounds. A fundamental idea which – as we see it – is a main element of FRONTALE.

We are delighted to add a new aspect to this main element with LAYERS of LIFE.
