FIX OIDA! 10 YEARS OF NEUSTADT KROCHA
BAM OIDA! Kroch’ ma eine!
Suddenly, they were there: the ‚Krocha’! They settled in the East of Austria, together with their codes: clothing, speech, music, dancing style. This particular youth culture scene hit its peak in 2008. However, the Neustadt Krocha @Merkurparkplatz already emerged on Youtube-screens in October 2007. They were doing a dance called shuffle accompanied by hard electronic music (hardstyle). But this was only the beginning: numerous groups started to form in Wiener Neustadt, having names like „Hard Dance Shufflerz“ or „Shuffle Dancerz Austria“.
With this FRONTALE special we bring the Krocha culture to the Stadttheater, we celebrate it together with former members of the scene and talk about the fact what is actually left of ‚Krocha’ ten years later.
Talk with David Spuller (HDS//Spula, Neustadt Krocha @Merkurparkplatz), Guenter Sladek (SDA//Ripper) and friends.
Curated by Jan Hestmann.
